Boric calls for disarmament in Chile

The leftist president of Chile, Gabriel Boric, has sent a message to the public on Tuesday so that, giving an “example of civic responsibility,” they voluntarily hand over the weapons they have in possession to the authorities.

The president has launched this message in the framework of an inspection of the destruction process of all the weapons seized by the authorities throughout the year and those weapons delivered voluntarily.

“This year we have increased the weapons that we are going to destroy by 28% compared to 2021, which means almost 3,900 more weapons destroyed than last year,” President Boric celebrated, according to the T13 chain.

On this point, the president has valued the attitude of those Chileans who have surrendered their weapons “voluntarily and responsibly”, something that he considers should be an example to follow because “it’s good for the society.”
