Bolivian government delivered aid to 5,229 families affected by floods

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The President of Bolivia, Luis Arce, informed on April 14 that 159 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the 5,229 families affected by the floods in the department of Santa Cruz (east).

According to the President, the Government will support in the recovery phase the damaged families belonging to the municipalities of Moro Moro, Vallegrande, Pucará, Cabezas, Puerto Quijarro, Cuatro Cañadas, Samaipata, and El Torno.

The Vice-Minister of Civil Defense, Juan Carlos Calvimontes, toured the affected regions and accompanied the delivery of food supplies to the inhabitants.

The authorities specified that in El Torno, the aid distribution was made to 450 families, who received food products such as rice, noodles, sugar, and oil; the same occurred in the 577 families of Samaipata and the 504 households corresponding to Moro Moro.

At the same time, Calvimontes delivered 14 tons of food to 490 families affected by floods in the municipality of Cabezas.

Likewise, in the municipalities of Pucará and Vallegrande, those affected received 18.15 and 48.17 tons of food, respectively.
