Bolivia plans to exceed US$13 billion in exports by 2022
Bolivian exports reached US$7 billion as of June, and the Government projects to exceed US$13 billion by December, stated the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Benjamín Blanco.
“In global, we are going to have a positive balance; I estimate that this year, this 2022, is going to be the year of exports in Bolivia, we are going to exceed US$13 billion,” indicated the official in an interview with the state radio Illimani.
Exports to June registered a 38% year-on-year increase by reaching US$7 million, US$1.9 million higher than the figure recorded in the same period of 2021, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The vice minister considers that state measures such as support to producers with credits, tariff liberations for machinery, and macroeconomic stability contributed to achieving these results.
The main products exported by Bolivia are minerals, hydrocarbons, soybean and its derivatives, wood, bananas, and jewelry.
On the other hand, imports in June also increased by 39% compared to the same period of 2021 and reached US$5.8 billion.
