RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “With hope, work and, above all, with unity, this is how we begin 2022. Through November 2021, our exports exceeded US$9.9 billion, the highest in 3 years, with a trade surplus of US$1.729 billion,” the president posted on Twitter.
The day before, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Integration Benjamín Blanco said that the positive foreign trade policy allowed Bolivia to beat an export record in the 2021 management, projected at US$10 billion through December.
“Exports will reach around US$10 billion, this figure had not been reached since 2014, we are going to break a record after many years of exports and this also results in a positive trade balance of over US$1.5 billion, after 8 years without a positive balance for the country,” the Deputy Minister said.
Blanco pointed out that not only was there an increase in the value of exports, but also in their volume, while highlighting that Bolivia obtained international recognition for the quality of its cocoa, which will enable exports at better prices.
He added that there are plans to open the European market to Bolivian wine.
