Bolivia achieves record number of exports in 2022

The Bolivian Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Benjamín Blanco, highlighted that the country reached a record of US$12.632 billion in exports, which is considered the highest maximum reached in the history of Bolivia.

“This year we have had the highest peak recorded throughout the history of our country, in terms of exports we have reached an amount of US$12.632 billion,” the authority asserted.

The milestone exceeded the previous mark by 29%, which was achieved in 2021. Meanwhile, compared to the 2020 management, the figure achieved by sending mobilized products abroad doubled.

Likewise, Blanco pointed out that imports registered an increase of US$10.807 billion, which resulted in a “positive trade balance” of US$825 million.

In addition, he highlighted that the main products exported were those linked to manufactures, in more than 50%, together with what was made by processed agricultural products and processed minerals, among others.

It is worth mentioning that, according to the vice minister, the increase occurs in volume and value, especially in non-traditional products, including those derived from soybeans, chestnuts and others.

Along these lines, he revealed that bovine meat exports reached US$120 million. However, the supply of this product in the domestic market was prioritized.

“We have reached a record in our meat exports, we have reached US$120 million in exports of bovine meat,” said Blanco.

Finally, he remarked that these results are “encouraging”, since they would reflect “economic stability” and that the country would be “more productive,” concluded the member of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
