B3 Posts Solid Q4 Results with Recurring Net Income of R$1.2 Billion

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, B3 S.A. (B3SA3), the operator of Brazil’s main stock exchange, released its financial results for the fourth quarter of 2024.

The company reported a recurring net income of R$1.2 billion (US$200M), reflecting a year-over-year increase of 13.6%. This growth highlights B3’s ability to navigate a challenging economic environment while maintaining profitability.

Recurring EBITDA for the quarter reached R$1.59 billion (US$265M), up 9.5% from the third quarter and 10% higher than the same period in 2023.

Net income attributable to shareholders, excluding non-recurring items, totaled R$1.178 billion (US$196M). This represents an impressive annual growth of 28.7%, although it marked a slight quarterly decline of 2.2%.

Total revenues for the quarter reached R$2.67 billion (US$445M), a 7% increase year-over-year but a marginal drop of 1.6% from the previous quarter. B3’s financial performance reflects its diversified revenue streams and operational efficiency.

The company benefited from strong growth in listed derivatives and over-the-counter (OTC) markets, which offset weaker activity in cash equities trading. Despite headwinds such as lower average CDI rates and reduced cash balances, B3 managed to deliver consistent results.

The company also focused on cost management and strategic investments in technology, which contributed to its operational stability. Expenses for the quarter totaled R$908 million (US$151M), while financial results showed a minor loss of R$2.1 million (US$0.4M).
