Afrojack, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike Headline Rio Electronic Festival

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Beginning on Friday, February 24th, those seeking an alternative Carnival can look to the Marina da Glória, which will host a five-day long electronic music festival. The festival, which follows the Rio Music Conference, brings some of the biggest names in electronic music to Rio for the event.

The Marina da Glória will open from 10PM every night from Friday, February 24th for five consecutive nights, providing the most innovative electronic music from around the world until 6AM every night. Artists and DJs performing come from a range of backgrounds and influences, with a mix of Brazilian and international talent.

Names performing on Friday stick to classic underground, UK gargage and Chicago deep house influences, and include Vintage Culture and Cat Dealers. Other performers on Friday evening will be Brazilian talents FTAMPA, RDT and Reezer.

Saturday, February 25th’s performances will focus on blending funke carioca and electronic beats, with Dennis DJ, MC G15 and Mc Delano.

Meanwhile, Sunday February 26th will see some of the festival’s biggest international names at the Marina da Glória, blending pop music with house and Brazilian electronic influences. Among Sunday evening’s DJs will be legendary artist Afrojack, as well as Hot Bullet, ODDS Music and Rio-based Jose Pinteiro.

Sharma Jey will bring his unique blend of nu disco, tech house and indie house to the festival on Monday, February 27th, accompanied by ILLUSIONIZE and Dashdot. Also playing on the same night will be DJs Gabriel Boni, Keskem and deep house collective D-Groove.

The final night of the festival, Tuesday February 28th, will see award winning duo Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike perform, as well as legendary artist WAO. EDM DJ Rafael Nazareth, progressive house DJ Johnny Glövez and world music artist Rodrigo Sha are also set to perform.

Tickets are available both online and from a selection of shops around the city, and should be purchased in advance of the event.
