Vaccination progress in Brazil brings positive outlook for tourism – association
RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The progress in vaccination in Brazil began to bring optimism to the domestic tourism market, pointed out a study by the Brazilian Association of Tourism Businesses (BRAZTOA), released Wednesday.
The better scenario comes mainly because of greater consumer interest to acquire or plan trips. The tourism business environment is expected to improve in the second half of 2021.

According to BRAZTOA, the results make the industry optimistic, even if sales still fall short of what was practiced before the pandemic, on average only 25% of what it was.
The association highlighted a strong movement among people who have already been vaccinated. Overall, 71% of tour operators reported being visited by vaccinated tourists. 29% of trips marketed to this audience take place in July and 47% are scheduled for the second half of this year.
In addition, 82% of operators believe that the approval of Coronavac by W.H.O. in early June will have a positive impact on international tourism as early as the second half of 2021.
“The market gained new contours in this post-pandemic period and the realization of how interdependent we are becoming even more apparent. Destinations and companies have invested in equipment, processes, and training to receive travelers well,” Roberto Haro Nedelciu, president of BRAZTOA, said in a statement.
