Uruguay’s exports of goods accumulated a 23 percent growth from January to November 2022, compared to the same period of the previous year, the foreign trade promotion institute Uruguay XXI reported today.

Thus, shipments from the South American country, including free trade zones and beef as the flagship, totaled US$12.14 billion, according to the official report.

In November, exports reached US$889 million, thus falling 11 percent year-on-year, linking the third consecutive monthly decline.

“Lower beef exports mainly explain this reduction. In contrast, external sales of vehicles, rice, and dairy products grew,” the agency explained.

In 2021 Uruguay recorded the highest historical level of exports of goods, with sales of US$11.5 billion after a 43 percent growth compared to the previous year.
