TikTok is the most used social network by kids and teens in Brazil
According to the TIC Kids Online Brazil survey, this is the first time that the Chinese platform has overtaken Instagram and Facebook.
The survey released Tuesday (Aug. 16) by TIC Kids Online Brazil shows that TikTok is the most used social network in the country by children and adolescents between the ages of 9 and 17.

Cetic.br (Regional Center for Information Society Development Studies), which conducts research on Internet use in Brazil, spoke with 2,651 children and adolescents and their parents or guardians. The interviews were conducted from October 2021 to March 2022.
Among Internet users between 9 and 17 years old, 88% have a profile in a social network. For the first time, TikTok was the most used. While 34% say they mainly use the Chinese platform, 33% prefer Instagram, and 11% Facebook.
According to the platforms’ usage guidelines, the minimum age for use is 13.
Although TikTok is the most used network, WhatsApp is the platform where most Brazilian children have a profile, with 80%. Instagram follows it with 62%, TikTok with 58%, Facebook with 51%, Twitter with 17%, and Snapchat with 12%.
