Wednesday’s Rio de Janeiro Nightlife Pick – Tonight the sounds of improvisational free punk and experimental dark noise-jazz will fill Audio Rebel as Quintavant Qtv presents Vaso and the launch of QTV009.
Vaso features Alexander Zhemchuzhnikov on tenor sax; Cadu Tenorio on violin, amplified objects, and live sound design; Felipe Zenícola on bass and electric bass; and Paulo Dantas on soprano sax, and guitar.
Together the quartet creates radical free jazz that Clifford Allen of Tiny Mix Tapes called; “Wonderful genre-busting Brazilian free music,” adding, “Ears should be open worldwide to these important voices.”

Karaokê Indie (Botafogo)
Tonight the Karaokê Indie party returns to Casa da Matriz with a special Beatles edition. In addition to eight hours of singing on the first floor, DJs Mario Mamede will spin a four-hour set, 100% full of the best of the Fab Four. Two hundred kidoguinhos will be distributed throughout the night and promotions will include two-for-one specials on five drinks; caipirinha, caipivodka, Hi-fi, Cuba Livre, and mojito.

The weekly Latin Party Rio returns to Guimo’s Pub in Copacabana tonight and during the party DJs Mateus, Jo, and special guests will spin the best of reggaeton, merengue, salsa, pop, house, and hits. Caipirinhas will be free until 11PM and beer will be unlimited until midnight.
