PARTY:
Tropikintas @ Bar do Nanam (Centro) – Head down to the famous “Beco das Artes” alleyway for one of the liveliest nights in the city.
At this Thursday’s Tropikintas you’ll be able to rock out to the Afroribeirinhos group and get down to the latest carimbó, cumbia, guitarrada, salsa, bolero and many more tropical delights courtesy of DJ Rod (Festa Fayah).
This free party starts at 9 PM.

LIVE:
Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira @ Theatro Municipal (Centro) – Come see the third concert in the “Série Mundo” (World Series) program, this time the focus of the night being Mexico, with Miguel Salmon Del Real conducting the Orquestra Sinfônica Brasileira.
You’ll be treated to works by Mexican composers José Pablo Moncayo and Eduardo Gamboa, as well as Symphony No. 8 by Czech composer Dvorak.
Tickets are available from R$10 and the night begins at 8 PM.

Jazz ‘n’ Tonic @ Meza Bar (Botafogo) – Stop by at the chic and classy Meza Bar in Botafogo for an evening of smooth jazz and even smoother gin and tonics.
You’ll be treated to two sets of live jazz plus “Pimp my G&T” where you can make your own gin and tonic just how you like it!
This free event begins at 7 PM.

Mississippi Delta Blues Bar (Gamboa)
As the name suggests, this is the place to go in Rio for live American-style blues music. Coupled with a Soul Food-inspired menu (their mac’n’cheese is excellent), plenty of bourbons, crafts beers, and a pool table, this place makes for an atmospheric hangout, whether there’s a band playing (and there usually is) or just the jukebox.

Symposium Bistro (Laranjeiras)
Run by Uruguayan expat José Hodara, the bistro offers the best national and international labels, which can be accompanied by a selection of cheeses, sausages or a main dish, like the majestic Uruguayan chorizo beef.

Pub Escondido (Copacabana)
