Rio’s Sugar Loaf’s cable car completes 110 years on Thursday, October 27, and offers special attractions to celebrate the date.

The anniversary of the attraction, one of the best known in town, will also include the release of a new song composed by Roberto Menescal in partnership with singer Cris Delanno and Alex Moreira.
The song, called “O Bondinho” (“The Cable Car”), will be released during Roberto Menescal and Cris Delanno’s presentation at the venue.
“This song was born from the immense admiration that Cris, Alex Moreira, and I have for the Sugar Loaf’s cable car, a tourist icon of the city.
“There is already music for Corcovado, several for Rio de Janeiro, for the beaches, but not for the park,” said Menescal.
From 2 PM to 3:40 PM, at Mirante Maria Ercília, on Morro da Urca, the Macaco Prego Circus will perform with musical theater, workshops, and games with the theme of the attraction’s anniversary.
In the Jardim dos Discos space, from 1 PM to 6 PM, visitors can make videos for social networks on a 360 platform, which captures images in slow motion.
The event will feature DJ Tommax from 4 PM to 7 PM, at the Maria Ercília Viewpoint, during sunset.
Hours of operation: Every day, from 9 AM to 8 PM, with visitor entry to the Park permitted until 6:30 PM.
