Record Turnout for Brazil’s Nationwide Public Exam

Brazil’s Unified National Public Contest has seen an unprecedented registration of over 100,000 applicants.

This surge in applications, announced by the Ministry of Management and Public Innovation, temporarily overwhelmed the exclusive registration platform, but the issue was swiftly resolved.

This ambitious contest aims to fill 6,640 positions in 21 federal public agencies. Registration opened on January 19 and will close on February 9.

The Ministry plans to release detailed data on the initial day of registrations by January 20.

Set for May 5, the exam will be conducted in 220 cities across all Brazilian states and the Federal District.

The exam fees are set at R$ 60 for mid-level and R$ 90 for higher-level positions.

Candidates from the

  • Unified Registry for Social Programs (CadÚnico),
  • Higher Education Student Financing Fund (Fies),
  • University for All Program (ProUni)

beneficiaries, and bone marrow donors are eligible for fee exemptions.

Upon registering, candidates will receive a Union Collection Guide (GRU), the exclusive payment method for the contest.

The Ministry advises candidates to carefully read the notices, emphasizing the value of enhancing their professional and academic paths.

The contest encompasses eight thematic blocks:

  • Infrastructure,
  • Exact Sciences and Engineering,
  • Technology, Data and Information,
  • Environmental,
  • Agrarian and Biological Sciences,
  • Labor and Worker Health,
  • Education,
  • Health,
  • Social Development and Human Rights,
  • Economic Sectors and Regulation,
  • Government Management and Public Administration, and
  • Intermediate Level.

Candidates must select one block but can apply for multiple positions within it.

Key dates

The Ministry’s goal with this contest is to democratize access to federal positions, aligning them with candidates’ skills and aspirations.

Key contest dates include:

– Registration: January 19 to February 9
– Final registration data: February 29
– Confirmation card distribution: April 29
– Exam date: May 5
– Preliminary results: June 3
– Final results: July 30
– Commencement of summons and training: August 5
