Ninth Edition of Rio’s Gastronomia Fair is Ready to go

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Sunday, July 21st, tickets for the ninth edition of the Rio Gastronomia began to be sold. The public may secure admission through this website. Held by the newspaper O Globo, the event takes place from August 16th to 18th and August 22nd to 25th at Pier Mauá, in Rio de Janeiro.

This year, the Festival features the concept “Comer é a Maior Diversão” (“Eating is the Greatest Fun”), offering fun and gastronomy for the whole family through chats, tastings with great names in Brazilian and world cuisine, shows, and branches of some of the best restaurants and bars in town like Ko Ba Izakaya; Mamma Jamma; Barsa; Lasai; Ateliêr Benoliel; Gosto da Amazônia; Grupo Irajá with a selection from restaurants Irajá, Formidable, Cozinha Artagão, Azur and Al Fresco; among others, that will offer pocket versions of their menus, as well as the Rio Gastronomia dish for R$20.

In the program, Rio Gastronomia includes classes, workshops, and lectures with chefs and renowned professionals in the sector to complete the activities. Necola Fedeli, from Fasano Al Mare; Alberto Landgraf, from Oteque; Nathalie Passos, from Naturalie Bistrô; Jorge Kroff, from Rituaali Clínica & Spa; Nello Cassese, from Cipriani; Didier Labbé, from Didier; and many more will be present.

Award-winning international and reference chefs in gastronomy also take part. In a partnership with the Mexican Consulate, Mexico will be participating for the first time in the event with chef Ricardo Muñoz Zurita. Chef Javier Ampuero is also among the renowned guests at the Peruvian Consulate to showcase his country’s cuisine.

They will join the classes to be held in the auditorium and promise tasty experiences. The complete program will be released soon.

The Rio Gastronomia is organized by O Globo, hosted by SESC RJ and SENAC RJ, with the master sponsorship of Santander and the sponsorship of Stella Artois, Pão de Açúcar, Coca-Cola and Vivo. The event enjoys the support of Andorinha Olive Oil, Naturgy, Gosto da Amazônia, Unimed-Rio, Amázzoni Gin and Magnesia de Phillips Tabs, Orfeu Cafés Especiais as the Official Coffee, and a partnership with SindRio (Union of Bars and Restaurants).

The first lot of tickets for August 22nd (Thursday) and 23rd (Friday) will cost R$30 (US$7.50), and R$40 for August 16th (Friday), 17th (Saturday), 18th (Sunday), 24th (Saturday) and 25th (Sunday).

There are also promotional combo options for those who secure tickets in advance. The Combo Coca-Cola #melhorjuntos for August 22nd (Thursday) and 23rd (Friday), including four tickets for the same day in the event, will cost R$96, and for August 16th (Friday), 17th (Saturday), 18th (Sunday), 24th (Saturday) and 25th (Sunday) it will cost R$128,00, with four tickets for the same day in the event.
