New Year’s Eve 2023 in Bahia’s Trancoso is also a metaverse gig in Decentraland
Since the 2000s, New Year’s Eve in Bahia’s upscale beach resort Trancoso has established itself as one of Brazil’s most popular destinations for New Year’s Eve celebrations.
In this party edition, visitors to Taipe’s New Year’s Eve can have experiences that transcend the real world and reach the metaverse.
Trancoso’s Taipei event announced this week that the seaside turn of 2023 will count on the help of blockchain technology to create experiences never before seen in Brazil.

“In this edition, the experiences will go beyond the event, we will also go to the metaverse, and each customer will receive an NFT with exclusive benefits when buying the ticket,” said Luiz Eurico Klotz, one of the founders of the event, which is already in its 23rd edition.
In collaboration with Haute Agency, a version of the party will be created at Decentraland’s Metaversum, accessible to those who cannot travel to Trancoso in Bahia.
Decentraland is now known as one of the largest metaverses, is based on blockchain, and has already been chosen by several brands for events, including Dolce & Gabanna, Tommy Hilfiger, and JPMorgan Bank.
“With Taipeverse, we will not only extend the experience but also bring Taipe to those who will not be attending the event,” said Marcelo Raimondi, co-founder of Taipe Party. Those who purchase tickets to the party will also receive an exclusive NFT.
With the initiative, Taipe aims to create a trend in the entertainment market by being the first event to offer a collection of NFTs, promotions in the metaverse, and facilities with partner brands, according to a statement.
The party will also set up an official channel on Discord to get closer to the community and share news, audio, music, and photos.
“The Taipe audience waits all year for New Year’s Eve. We want to enable them and the brands to live the Taipe experience not only at the turn of the year,” concluded Bruno Dias, partner of Haute Agency.
