A Puerto Rican pop star is bringing a new world tour to Lima, with tickets on sale more than six months ahead. His venue, Arena 1, was closed by the San Miguel district in September, and no reopening has been made public.

Luis Fonsi plays Arena 1 in Lima on Friday, 23 April 2027, on his Mar Infinito World Tour 2027. Ticketmaster Perú, the official seller, opened a BBVA card presale on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.

For US fans, the show is a chance to see the singer of Despacito on a weekend by the Pacific. Regular seats cost about US$81 to US$142, but Ticketmaster still lists the show at a venue San Miguel shut on 24 September.

Who Luis Fonsi Is and Why the Lima Date Matters

Luis Fonsi is a singer from Puerto Rico, a US territory whose people hold US citizenship. He is best known for Despacito, his 2017 hit with fellow Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee.

Ticketmaster presents the Lima date as part of the Mar Infinito World Tour 2027, with his band and backing singers. The seller says the set will draw on his whole career, including Despacito.

La República, a Lima daily, presented the date as a return to Peru at the request of his fans. It quoted Fonsi saying the tour name reflects much of what he feels at this moment in his life.

His official tour page lists other dates in the region, including Santiago, Chile, on 1 April and Buenos Aires on 13 April. Closer to home for US fans, it also lists the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on 11 December.

Ticketmaster names La Bóveda Perú S.A.C. as the organiser of the Lima show. The seller says it does not answer for tickets bought outside its own system.

Tickets and Prices

Ticketmaster Perú sells the tickets online at ticketmaster.pe and at its experience centres in Lima. The BBVA presale opened on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, and regular sale starts on Saturday, 17 October.

Ticketmaster says its listed prices already include the ticketing fee, and each tier applies while stock lasts. Amounts are in Peruvian soles, converted at PEN 3.44 per US dollar, the open.er-api.com rate of 15 October 2026.

  • Zona General, unnumbered seats: S/220 presale and S/280 regular (about US$64 and US$81)
  • Zona VIP, numbered seats: S/300 presale and S/380 regular (about US$87 and US$110)
  • Zona Platinum, numbered seats: S/390 presale and S/490 regular (about US$113 and US$142)

Lima media reported a 20% presale discount for BBVA card holders, close to the gap between the two price tiers. Each buyer can purchase up to six tickets.

Children aged five and over need their own ticket and must enter with an adult in the same zone. People with an accredited disability can get a discount on one personal ticket under Peruvian law.

Buyers abroad should check payment options early, as Ticketmaster Perú can limit payment methods by country of residence. Buy only on ticketmaster.pe or at official outlets, since tickets from social media or street sellers may be fake.

The Venue and the September Closure

Arena 1 stands on the Circuito de Playas, the seafront road below Lima’s coastal cliffs, in the San Miguel district. It lies north-west of Miraflores and Barranco, the districts where many visitors stay.

On Thursday, 24 September 2026, San Miguel’s municipality ordered a temporary closure of the venue, also known as Arena 1 Park. It acted after the first of two Robbie Williams concerts there, on Wednesday, 23 September.

Municipal manager Jorge Román Saavedra said the evacuation protocols set by the municipality had not been followed, RPP reported. The second Robbie Williams show, planned for 24 September, did not go ahead.

Ticketmaster now says tickets for that show are valid for a new date, Saturday, 12 December, at Estadio San Marcos. The rapper Trueno also moved his 1 October Arena 1 show to the Parque de la Exposición amphitheatre, El Comercio reported.

Ticketmaster still lists other Arena 1 shows for late 2026, including Marco Antonio Solís on Saturday, 7 November. It is not publicly known whether, or when, the closure will be lifted.

With six months to go, the organiser has time to fix the venue issues or move the show. Any change would come through Ticketmaster, so buyers should keep their order emails.

Getting There and Staying Safe

Most visitors reach the Costa Verde by car or app-based taxi. Traffic on the seafront road can build before and after big shows, so leave early and agree on a pickup point.

For the September show, the evacuation plan listed two routes uphill, the Belén footbridge and about 40 buses, RPP said. Attendees later complained of a blocked pedestrian access on that footbridge, Caretas reported.

The State Department advises using app-based taxis, ordering a cab by phone or using a service linked to a major hotel. It warns that travellers have been robbed or assaulted after hailing unknown taxis on the street.

The department says kidnapping is rare but does occur, and warns of robbers who force taxi passengers to withdraw cash. Use cash machines inside banks or shopping centres, and avoid taking out large sums.

Lima’s Jorge Chávez International Airport lies in neighbouring Callao, closer to San Miguel than to Miraflores. At the airport, authorised taxi booths charge a flat rate based on your destination, the department notes.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens need no visa for tourist stays of less than 90 days, the State Department says. Border officials set the approved stay on arrival, and overstays bring fines that must be paid before leaving.

Passports must be valid for at least six months after entry, with one blank page for the stamp. Make sure your entry is recorded, as a missing record can delay your departure for weeks.

The department rates Peru at Level 2, Exercise Increased Caution, in an advisory issued on 4 September 2026. It cites the risk of crime, unrest, kidnapping and terrorism.

Peru keeps the same clock all year, while the US East Coast is on daylight time in April. An 8 p.m. start in Lima is therefore 9 p.m. in New York and 6 p.m. in Los Angeles.

Late April falls after Easter, which is on 28 March in 2027, and before Peru’s July national holidays. Booking a hotel soon after buying a ticket still gives the widest choice near the coast.

What It Means for You

For a US fan of Latin pop, the Lima show offers a Puerto Rican star at seats from about US$81, fees included. A Friday date also suits a long weekend on the Peruvian coast.

The main risk is the venue, not the artist, after the September closure of Arena 1. Buy only from Ticketmaster, keep your confirmation and choose refundable travel until the venue question is settled.

What Is Not Known

It is not publicly known whether San Miguel has lifted the closure of the Arena 1 complex. It is also not known whether the organiser would move the show if the venue stays shut.

Door times, opening acts and the length of the set have not been published. Fonsi’s own tour page did not yet list the Lima date on 15 October 2026.

What Comes Next

Regular sale opens on Saturday, 17 October, at the higher regular prices. Fans on a budget should compare the three zones on the event page before paying.

Any change to the date or venue would be announced by Ticketmaster and the organiser. Watch your email and the event page in the weeks before the show.
