In Peru, Cusco will have a vice-consulate to serve Brazilian tourists

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – One of the most popular destinations for Brazilians in South America, the city of Cusco, Peru, will have a vice-consulate of Brazil to meet the demands of tourists visiting the region.

According to the General Secretariat of the Presidency, President Jair Bolsonaro issued a decree on Wednesday (2) that creates the institution in Cusco and converts the Consulate of Brazil in Iquitos, also in Peru, into a vice-consulate.

This last measure allows maintaining the consular service in the Amazon border region and the support to cooperation actions, with cost reduction, without prejudice to the quality of the services.

Both vice-consulates will be subordinated to the Brazilian Embassy in Lima. The installation of the new consular offices will take place after the Peruvian government’s approval.
