RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A survey conducted by PoderData from May 22 to 24, 2022, shows that more than half of the Brazilian population (58%) is pessimistic about the development of the Brazilian economy.
Another 32% believe that the economic situation in the country is on the right track, while 10% could not answer.
The question asked, “In general, do you believe that the Brazilian economy is…”. The alternatives were “On the wrong track,” “On the right track,” and “Don’t know.”

Region – those living in the Northeast (63%) are the most pessimistic about the direction of the economy, dropping to 47% in the Midwest;

BOLSONARISTS ARE MORE OPTIMISTIC
Among those who agree with the federal government, 77% responded that Brazil’s economy is on the right track. Among those who disapprove of Bolsonaro’s government, 90% have the opposite view.
