Festival Multiplicidade Hosts Final Weekend of 2015 Edition

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Beginning on Thursday, November 5th and continuing through Sunday, November 8th, the closing weekend of the 2015 edition of the technology, music, art and design event Festival Multiplicidade will feature over 35 attractions performing in three Rio de Janeiro venues; Fundação Panetário in Gávea, Parque Lage in Jardim Botânico and Oi Futuro Flamengo.

The eleventh edition of Festival Multiplicidade entitled, Multiplicidade 2025, began earlier this year in July with the focus on the next ten years and the future intersections of art, music and technology. During the closing four days, the events will include performances, installations, workshops and panels.

French duo, 1024 Architecture, will open the weekend on Thursday, November 5th with a performance of “Recession” at Oi Futuro Flamengo. The piece is the third act of the 1024 Architecture’s trilogy “Euphorie, Crisis, Recession.” The duo, consisting of Pierre Schneider e François Wunshel, performed the second act, “Crise,” live in Rio de Janeiro during the 2013 edition of the VideoAtaq event.

On Friday, November 6th, Muti Randolph and Bruno Palazzo will perform their multimedia installation at Fundação Planetário (Foundation Planetarium ) in Gávea beginning at 8PM. Additionally during the night, DJ Andrea Gram, one of the first Brazilian women to spin electronic music, will present a special set with Muti Randolph providing visuals beginning at 9PM. Then beginning at 10PM, Randolph will also partner with Danish artist Rumpistol for a presentation with 3D projections.There will also be film screenings throughout the day in the cúpula Galileu Galillei beginning at 11AM and food trucks will be parked outside of the planetarium beginning at 7PM.

On Saturday and Sunday the festival will move to the Escola de Artes Visuais (EAV) in Parque Lage, Jardim Botânico. From 10AM to 10PM on Saturday and from 10AM to 9PM on Sunday.

French artist Cyril Hernandez will open the day on Saturday with a presentation of the installation “Mobila Som” beginning at 10AM. During the day, peformers will include Brazilian group and artists IN-SONE, Gabriel Muzak, Gui Marmota, Antonia Morais, Plinio Profeta, and Alumbramento. Additionally Tato Taborda will host the workshop, “Pausa na emissão”; Leo Tucherman and Susana Lacevitz will host the workshop, “Oficina de sonoplastia para crianças de todas as idades” (Sound Design workshop for children of all ages); there will be a panel lab of tomorrow and Danish pianist and composer Søren Kjaergaard will perform. Rumpistol will return to perform at 8PM and the Brazilian group Orquestra Vermelha will close out the night with their performance beginning at 9PM.

On Sunday, Cyril Hernandez will return to start the day with the “Mobila Som” installation. Then Gui Marmota will peform followed by Triboelétrica with Pedro Pagy. Additionally during the day, Brazilians Ricardo Garcia, André Thitcho, Felipe Vilasanchez, and Giu Nunez, Peruvian composer and pianist Daniel Valle-Riestra, and French DJ Aleqs Notal will perform. Additionally IN-SONE and Søren Kjaergaard will return to perform. Brazilian band Meia Banda will perform at 7PM and beginning at 8PM Brazilian band Camerata Monoaural will perform to close out the night and the festival.
