Eduardo Bolsonaro Posts Video Calling French President an “Idiot”

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Federal deputy and son of the president, Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP), posted a video on social media entitled “Macron is an idiot.”

Eduardo Bolsonaro said the post is a message to the French president, Emmanuel Macron. Last Thursday, August 22nd, Macron said the crisis in the Amazon should be discussed at the G7 summit.

The video posted by the deputy is from a YouTuber named Bernardo P. Küster and criticizes the crisis France has endured which unleashed the ‘yellow vests’ demonstrations.

According to the YouTuber, the French government’s intention to comply with environmental targets has raised the price of gasoline and displeased its people.

“To follow the UN agenda, Emmanuel Macron has increased the fuel tax by 23 percent”. Besides, he says the French president has over-served immigrants and forgotten his own people.

Eduardo Bolsonaro further criticized Macron when answering a tweet from Globo News commentator Guga Chacha. The deputy said that Macron used an old photo to speak about the fires in the Amazon.

“Seriously! For those who are taking advantage of the situation for personal interests, attacking Brazil and its sovereignty in a vile and deceitful way, even using photos from twenty years ago to manipulate public opinion and instigate terror, in addition to endorsing colonialist discourse, is a cheap move.”

Eduardo Bolsonaro is his father’s choice to hold the position of ambassador to the United States.

The nomination is yet to be forwarded to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, where it must undergo a thorough examination and be approved.
