Covid-19: Hospitalizations in Brazil São Paulo down 16% in November

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the Health Secretariat, by 6:30 PM on Sunday (13), 2,679 patients were hospitalized in the state for Covid-19. Of the total, 1,441 were in ward beds, while 1,238 were in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) rooms, requiring special care.

On November 1, 3,202 people were hospitalized due to the disease, of which 1,646 in wards and 1,556 in ICUs, the Secretariat said.

Bed occupancy rates in the state’s hospitals have also declined. Currently, 23.3% of beds are occupied. In Greater São Paulo the occupancy rate is slightly higher, at 29.4% by 6:30 PM yesterday.

The state government also pointed out that, in the most recent figures, 4,421,955 confirmed cases were registered, and 4,247,874 people have now recovered from the disease. Of the total number of patients who required hospitalization, 456,953 have recovered and been discharged.

Overall in the state, 153,058 people succumbed to complications from the virus and died.
