Brazil will deploy 34,000 military personnel during Sunday’s elections
The Ministry of Defense has announced that some 34,000 soldiers from the Armed Forces will be deployed to provide security and logistical support during next Sunday’s elections (2).
There will be 430 small boats, 18 ships, 3,000 vehicles, 62 armored vehicles, and 47 aircraft, including planes and helicopters.

The Navy, Army, and Air Force will participate in joint operations with public security agencies and at the request of the Electoral Court in federal units.
Operations will include reinforcing the maintenance of order at polling stations and logistical support, such as distributing ballot boxes in more remote areas, such as rural areas, indigenous areas, and riverside communities.
This type of assistance from the armed forces is provided for in the electoral law.
