Brazilian comedian Bismark Fugazza has been arrested

Brazil’s largest conservative-biased humor channel, Hipócritas (Hypocrites), made a broadcast confirming the information that comedian Bismark Fugazza was arrested in Paraguay on March 17.

According to information from his fellow comedians Paulo Souza and Augusto Pacheco, he was taken to the Federal Police of Brazil, where he was remanded in custody.

They have more than 1.5 million subscribers on their YouTube channel.

Numerous establishment newspapers and left-wing media seek to legitimize the decision to persecute the artist.

The far-left newspaper Diário do Centro do Mundo (DCM) published an article explaining the reasons given by Justice Alexandre de Moraes.

The DCM article does not call Bismark a comedian or an artist, but a “bolsonarist youtuber” to justify the criminal action.

Alexandre de Moraes justified the criminal action.

“Demonstrations, hate speeches, and incitement to violence are intended to corrode the structures of the democratic regime and the structure of the rule of law, including threats to politically exposed people because of their politically opposed position in the ideological spectrum”.

In Brazil, there seems to be a kind of Orwellian “crime of ideas” by having a humor channel and making acid criticisms of the Supreme Court Justices and President Lula da Silva.

Last year a group of far-left activists made an “act” with the head of former president Jair Bolsonaro covered in blood, demonstrating their hatred against the ruler.

That was not considered “hate speech” or “anti-democratic”.
