Brazil registers in 2022 the largest flow of foreign currency since 2012

The flow of foreign exchange, which measures the difference between the inflow and outflow of dollars into the country, recorded its decade-long record in 2022, with a surplus of US$9.574 billion, compared to to US$6.134 billion in 2021, reported today the Central Bank of Brazil.

Regarding the trade account, Brazil closed last year with accumulated net inflows of US$34.288 billion, the highest figure since 2018, while outflows totaled US$24.714 billion, the worst result in two years.

The flow of foreign exchange into the country recorded its decade-long record in 2022

Last December, the flow of foreign currency experienced a deficit of US$12.482 billion, accumulated by the loss of US$453 million in the trade account and the loss of US$12.029 million in the financial account.
