RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - AES Operações, a subsidiary of AES Brasil (AESB3), reached an investment agreement with Itaú Unibanco (ITUB4) for renewable energy generation projects.
The financial institution will subscribe to new preferred shares to be issued in the context of a capital increase by Guaimbê Holding, to which the bank will contribute R$360 (US$63.3) million. The operation was approved by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) on December 16.
With the subscription of the new preferred shares issued in the capital increase, Itaú will expand its stake as a shareholder of Guaimbê to 23 . . .
