Uruguayan Senate supports Argentina’s claim to the Malvinas

The draft "expresses concern over the continued usurpation by the United Kingdom of the Malvinas Islands, South Georgia, the South Sandwich Islands and the surrounding maritime areas, an occupation that currently constitutes one of the last colonial enclaves in Latin America"

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In Uruguay, a draft declaration has been presented. The Senate of the Republic expresses its support for the Argentine Republic's claim to sovereignty over the Malvinas also known as the Falkland Islands.

The Uruguayans who volunteered to fight against the United Kingdom are also remembered on this occasion.
