Since March 2020, Peruvian residents must wear mandatory masks in public spaces, while the compulsory mask use in open public spaces was eliminated for a few months in 2022.

Lopez estimated that in two weeks – around October – the fourth wave of Covid-19 will end in Peru, while a few weeks ago, those over 18 were allowed to access the fourth dose of the vaccine.
“(The regulation) should be coming out tomorrow because we still need to complete the signatures with the ministers who are abroad,” explained the head of Minsa at a press conference, after clarifying that the measures will also apply to citizens with respiratory problems.
