RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - Argentinean Mercado Libre continues to expand in the region and yesterday took another step to accelerate its presence in Chile. The company founded by Marcos Galperin announced the acquisition of Redelcom, a Chilean company operating since 2010 as a payment service provider. In October 2019, began offering point-of-sale (POS) terminals to retailers. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
"Mercado Libre seeks to consolidate its value proposition in Chile and enhance the growth of its multiple payment tools and digital financial solutions," said the statement the company sent to its shareholders.
