UAE and Brazil bolster defense competencies with EDGE Group -Aerospace Department pact

The UAE-based EDGE Group, a leading advanced technology and defense group, has recently sealed a pivotal agreement with the Aerospace Science and Technology Department (DCTA) of the Brazilian Air Force – the nucleus of Brazil’s military aviation and space research.

This collaboration is designed to jointly uncover opportunities and forge projects in the realms of aerial and space activities, smart weaponry, and autonomous, unmanned systems.

The agreement was formalized in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, amidst an ongoing visit by a senior EDGE delegation to Brazil.

The event was graced by the top brass of EDGE and DCTA, including DCTA’s Director-General, Air Brigadier Maurício Augusto Medeiros, and key stakeholders in the Brazilian industry, such as SIATT and Turbomachine.

PROJECTS

This series of meetings will pave the way for EDGE to solidify its foundation for augmented collaboration in knowledge sharing, cooperative R&D, and the co-creation of cutting-edge defense systems, among other strategic areas.

As per the agreement, both entities will collaboratively explore opportunities to create projects in the spheres of Air and Space, Smart Weapons, autonomous, unmanned systems, and other related domains.

This accord is in sync with EDGE’s strategic blueprint to cultivate reciprocal partnerships that bolster the development of defense competencies in both the UAE and Latin America.

This is particularly significant as EDGE has recently inaugurated its inaugural international office in Brasilia.

Furthermore, EDGE recently disclosed a strategic alliance with the Brazilian Navy, focusing on the co-development of long-range anti-ship missiles and the provision of sophisticated solutions such as the anti-jamming technology crafted by EDGE in the UAE.

In a bid to broaden its Brazilian partnerships, EDGE Group has also entered into a strategic alliance with Turbomachine, a trailblazer in the aerospace sector acclaimed for its proficiency in gas turbine engines and revolutionary plasma-assisted combustion solutions.
