Inflation in the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), the main Brazilian inflation index, closed the month of October with a rise of 0.59%. The result was released this Thursday, 10th, by the IBGE.

The index rose again after three months of deflation in July, August and September (in declines that had been -0.68%, -0.36% and -0.29%).
- In the 12-month period, inflation was 6.47%, compared to 7.17% in the accumulated until September.
- In the ten months of this year until October, the accumulated high is 4.70%.
The result was above the market consensus, which expected monthly IPCA of 0.48% for October and deceleration from 7.17% to 6.34% in 12 months.
