Brazil: Inflation rises 0.59% in October in the IPCA after a period of deflation

Inflation in the Broad National Consumer Price Index (IPCA), the main Brazilian inflation index, closed the month of October with a rise of 0.59%. The result was released this Thursday, 10th, by the IBGE.

The index rose again after three months of deflation in July, August and September (in declines that had been -0.68%, -0.36% and -0.29%).

The result was above the market consensus, which expected monthly IPCA of 0.48% for October and deceleration from 7.17% to 6.34% in 12 months.
