RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Miguel Pupo was better than Ítalo Ferreira in the Brazilian duel in the round of 16 of the first stage of the 2022 season of the World Surfing Circuit, which is held in Pipeline (Hawaii).
The surfer from São Paulo was not afraid to face the current Olympic champion and won by 12.40 to 8.73 points to advance to the quarterfinals, where he will face Lucca Mesinas, from Peru.

The quarterfinals will also feature a Brazilian duel, which guarantees at least one representative from Brazil in the semifinals. The rookie Samuel Pupo, 21 years old, will face Caio Ibelli.
