\nBrazil’s former president Jair Bolsonaro has recently told his allies that his political plan is to run as a senatorial candidate in the 2026 elections.
\n
\nBolsonaro considers that this action could allow him to lead a bloc in the Upper House that would be formed by parliamentarians who identify with him, reports the newspaper ‘Folha de S.Paulo’.
\n
\nFor him, the best options are those where bolsonarism is strongest, such as Mato Grosso and Rondônia, located in the west, bordering Bolivia, or the Federal District.

\n
\nHowever, he would have discarded Rio de Janeiro, where he started his political career since his son Flávio Bolsonaro could run for reelection for this state, where he was elected in 2019, even though last month he admitted that he plans to run for mayor of this city.
\n
\nOn the other hand, as reported by the newspaper mentioned earlier, his son Eduardo Bolsonaro, who is a congressman for São Paulo, could also propose his name to the Senate.
\n
\nHowever, the intention of the former president to lead a group in the Senate will only be possible if Justice allows him to do so before the elections of 2026 since he has 16 investigations that could disqualify him.
