Argentina’s government predicts record exports of US$105 billion by 2023

Argentina’s Foreign Minister, Santiago Cafiero, estimated yesterday, Wednesday, that the country’s exports during 2023 will exceed US$105 billion, above the current “record” figures in shipments to the rest of the world.

“Next year, we will surpass the current record export figures, above US$105 billion. These are the projections we have in an Argentina that is recovering economically but that also has a strategic view of the needs of the world and the possibilities that this generates”, said Cafiero.

The words of the government official were made during the launching ceremony of the “National Plan for the Promotion of Exports 2023” held at the San Martín Palace (headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in the city of Buenos Aires, with the participation of businessmen and representatives of sectorial chambers.

Cafiero also projected that the volume of the country’s shipments would close the current year at US$100 billion.

In this sense, he highlighted the “resilience” of local companies.

“A year ago, we set in this very place the goal of exporting one hundred billion dollars between goods and services, and we have achieved it,” he said.

“It is not only the achievement of a Government, but it is also the result of the great resilience of Argentine companies and their capacity to innovate, of the synergy generated between the private sector and the public sector, and of the application of a strategic view”, added Cafiero.

Next year’s export plan contemplates carrying out a total of 305 external trade promotion actions, which include 130 international fairs, 35 business rounds, 80 trade missions, and 60 sectorial positioning actions, informed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a press release.
