Wednesday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Breakz is a revelation in music and dance here in Rio de Janeiro, offering the public a great free daytime/ evening party with killer beats, a great crowd and some serious b-boy action. Founded by producer Rebeca Dues, Breakz brings together the best of hip hop culture, offering the people of Rio a break (get it?) from the pricey and crowded club nights.
Today’s edition is a make up session from last Sunday’s rained out attempt and will feature only the best and funkiest DJs that Rio has to offer. Commanding the decks for the day will be DJ Machintal, a master of soul, Brazilian grooves, rap, breaks and more. DJ Pachu will be throwing down his special blend of funk along with Pedro Piu of Brazilian Wax, Skull B and MC Pai Lua. Today will also feature some of Rio’s top b-boys representing in true hip hop fashion. So lace up your shell-tops and get on down to this special edition of Breakz.
