Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – The freshly opened bar/restaurant Barzinho has already made a big splash in the media and nightlife scene. The wonderfully decorated venue has already played host to various parties, rocked by various DJs and dance-floor goers alike. Owners chef Fabio Battistella along with actor and DJ Rodrigo Penna are continuing their reign stemming from the success of their other ventures including bar and restaurants Meza Bar, Doiz and new hostel named Oztel. The duo have set their sites on Centro, opening one of Rio’s newest nightlife venues.

Aside from its creative, colorful decor including exciting light work and incredible chandeliers, the tables and chairs are done up as well as even the bathrooms. There is definitely no lack of style here. To help push the success of this spot even further, local DJ legend Mauricio Lopes has begun a new project on Thursday nights called MAUzinho, where the superstar DJ will reside as resident, calling weekly guests to join him on the decks. Tonight is the first edition MAUzinho, where Mauricio will be joined by Cau Lopes to get things started.

Mostra Livre de Artes (Lapa)
In honor of their 30 year career of hosting the best and boldest events in Rio, Circo Voador presents Mostra Livre de Artes, a show/ exposition featuring artists, poets, films, bands and DJs. There is a complete program beginning with poetry followed by films both inside and outside and bands later on in the night. Full art expositions will be displayed as well.

Titãs (Lapa)
Legendary rock back the Titãs are back at Fundição Progresso to celebrate their 30 year career and success. The Titãs are one of the most successful bands in Brazil, having sold more than 6.3 million albums and have been covered by several well-known Brazilian artists as well as a couple of international singers.
