Rollé Olímpico Skating and Cultural Event in Rio’s Flamengo Park

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Featuring eight hours of cultural programming including skateboarding events and competitions, workshops, DJs, live music, live painting, and food trucks, the Rollé Olímpico event will be held from 9AM to 5PM at the pista de skate do Parque do Flamengo (skate park of Flamengo Park) in Aterro do Flamengo on Saturday, September 3rd.

Taking place in partnership with Secretaria Municipal de Cultura, the Prefeitura (The City of Rio de Janeiro), and Truque Produções, the family-friendly Rollé Olímpico event is part of the Cultural Circuit of the Olympics 2016 programming series and invites both visitors to the city and locals to a free day of activities in Parque do Flamengo.

The Oficina de Street (Street Workshop) will start the event at 10AM followed by Longboard Dancing from 1AM to 5PM. Alex Batista of the Guanabara Boards Escola de Skate and skateboarder Nicola Grilo are curators of the skate workshops.

Following the workshops, there will be best trick competitions for basic and advanced skaters and groups.

Curators of the arts workshops Rodrigo Villas, Rafael Uzai, and Alexandre Baltazar will present stenciling, graffiti and engraving workshops from 10AM to 5PM.

Additionally, Sensemedia will present Processos Criativos para Interação Urbana (Creative Processes for Urban Interaction) workshops at 1PM, 2:30 PM, and 4PM.

Providing music during the event, DJ Bernardo Pauleira will spin and Julia Bosco will perform live. Food trucks will include Street burguerZ, Kombi Carioca, Joe’s Pub, tipi’óka, Bike Retrô Gourmet, and Delfina Food Truck.

Workshop registration will take place on-site on the day of the event and the classes will be subject to capacity.
