Rio’s ‘O Cluster’ Summer Edition Today: Daily

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Complete with a Carnival bloco, ice cream and beer, the Rio arts fair known as “O Cluster” will celebrate the season in style with their special summer edition from 1PM to 11PM today, Sunday, February 9th in Botafogo.

O Cluster was created by the duo of Carolina Herszenhut, the designer behind Branchée, and independent content producer, Camila Félix, to showcase the work of Rio artisans and designers in a laid-back setting with good food and music.

The first edition was held in November of 2012 and has since become an established outlet for artists in the city. “This time, we will put together a super refreshing space with plastic pools and hoses. We will have popsicles, light summer food, and cold drinks,” explained O Cluster co-creator, Camila Félix.

“To make it exciting , we will have a Carnival bloco doing a procession throughout the venue. The idea is to bring all that is summer in Rio into the event, hence the nickname and hashtag, #solsambaecerveja [#sunsambaandbeer] for this edition.”

Held in a beautiful refurbished old home in the neighborhood of Botafogo, the vendors will again fill the lower floor and garden of the venue. “And to maximize the outdoor space around the house, we will display [some of the brands] on bicycles,” explained co-creator Carolina Herszenhut. “Inside the house will be our fashion market featuring some new brands, veteran [exhibitors] and the additional participation of brands for children.”

The list of vendors for this edition will include: Miss Manga, Flow, Mash Up, Krya, Bootleg Preacher, Biombo, Maria Nuvem, Cura, Spariam, SRI, Benta, John Bags, Handred, Glaucia Pietrobom, Santa Expedita, Ivo Minoni, Apeporã, Bia Lacerda, Hull, Bê de Maria, ODE, Extranóica, Auê, Anouk, Erikaz, Supernut, Litori, Maria Nuvem, Óleos do Brasil, Cícero + O Cluster, Avulsa, Erikaz, Velt and Naai e Fowler.

Entertainment will be helped along at the hands of urban and post-graffiti artists, Villas, Zagri and Miriam Brugmann, who also specializes in ceramics.

DJs Andrei Yurievitch, Ícaro dos Santos and Marcello MBGroove will provide the music for the event. Gastronomia O Cluster (O Cluster Gastronomy) will also return with new chefs and all offerings under R$20.
