PARTY:
Local Beatz @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – This is the party that brings together tourists and backpackers from all the largest hostels in Rio de Janeiro and mixes them up with some locals at one of the most liberal and welcoming clubs in the city.
Come and hear some of the best resident Fosfobox DJs spinning hiphop, funk, reggaeton and pop all night long, and get your fill of all-you-can-drink caipifrutas from 11 PM until midnight.
Tickets are between R$30-R$50 and the club opens at 11 PM.

Sambachaça @ Beco do Rato (Lapa) – Sambachaça started as a group of friends getting together and paying tribute to some of the legends of samba, over a few drinks of course. Now they’ve grown into one of the most popular samba groups in the city.
Head down to one of the most traditional live-music bars, Beco do Rato, and see for yourself why these guys are so popular with the samba-loving cariocas.
The bar opens at 6 PM, the music starts at 7 PM, and it’s R$10 entry all night long.

Sexteto Sucupira @ Fundição Progresso (Lapa) – Come to Lapa’s cultural headquarters of Fundição Progresso for a taste of Carnival as Sexteto Sucupira throw a special ‘Balie das Arábias’ in honour of Júlia Vargas’s birthday.
Arrive at this Arabian-themed party dressed in the style of the middle-east and pay either nothing before 9 PM or a discounted entry fee, while you can also sample Arabian cuisine all night long. Then get down to the sounds of Sexteto Sucupira, special guest Júlia Vargas and Egil DJ.
Entry is free before 9 PM with your name on the event page mural or if you’re in costume. Afterwards, tickets are between R$15 – R$20, doors open at 8:30 PM.

Casa Momus (Lapa)
Run by two Italian expats, Momus is worth the visit for its interior design alone. Among this fancy bar’s highlights are its classic Bloody Mary (R$27), Pisco Sour (R$28) and Negroni (R$28).

Flashback (Ipanema)
Flashback is a high-end restaurant with plenty of classical music and photos decorating the walls. Tonight, between 7 PM and 9 PM, the restaurant will offer a happy hour with two-for-one on caipivodkas and Stella Artois. The caipivodkas are made fresh with lime, strawberry, or passionfruit as well as additional herbs for extra taste.
