Stand Up Comedy in English @ Lapamaki Lounge (Ipanema) – Come see the only English-language stand-up comedy night in Rio!
Ten comedians from the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and Brazil will be stepping up on stage with the sole aim of making you laugh. This should be a fun, relaxed, and stimulating way to spend a Tuesday evening in the newly-opened Lapamaki rooftop lounge area.
Doors open at 8 PM, the show starts at 9 PM, and tickets are R$15.

Ademafia @ Ganjah Lapa (Lapa) – Head down to Ganjah Lapa for a double birthday celebration.
This month sees two birthdays combined into one huge party. Both the popular “Baile Ademafia” party and one of Ganjah Lapa’s resident DJs, Dj Goranmo, will be joining forces to throw a huge celebration, with special guests Jimmy Jay, Knines, Kajaman, Julio Rodrigues, and more.
Tickets are between R$10-R$20 and the night starts at 9 PM.

PARTY:
Oficina de Maracatu @ Fundiçao Progresso (Lapa) – Come and join Bloco Rio Maracatu’s official workshop, with a chance to participate in the music and dance of one of Carnival’s most popular “blocos” (street parties).
Founded in 1997, Maracatu was born from the union of musicians from Pernambuco and Rio de Janeiro to preserve and celebrate North-Eastern culture. This evening, drummer Rumenig Dantas will be the special guest.
Tickets are R$45 and the workshop starts at 7 PM.

Comuna (Botafogo)
Botafogo’s favorite bar for undergrad students and hipsters. Comuna is famous for its homemade burgers and variety of beer labels.

Bar Veloso (Leblon)
A stone’s throw from the beach, Bar Veloso is styled after the bossa-nova-era of Rio de Janeiro. Their feijoada is excellent, and they serve a variety of traditional Brazilian dishes and snacks. Expect slightly higher prices than usual, due to the prime location.

Dida Bar e Restaurante (Tijuca)
Specialized in Afro-Brazilian and African food, Bar da Dida is a great option for authentic, hard-to-find soulful food. Make sure to try their appetizers.

Shake Speakeasy Bar (Centro)
Run by the award-winning barman and mixologist Walter Garin, Shake Speakeasy mixes some of the best cocktails in the city in an inspired “hidden” location. Located in a shopping center a few steps away from the equally innovative Curto Café, Shake Speakeasy Bar may be a little hard to find, but its thirties ambiance and competitively-priced drinks make the trip well worth.
