Where better to celebrate than the family-run and super-welcoming atmosphere of Dida Bar e Restaurante. Everyone will be singing along, dancing, and taking turns to play, while the homemade Afro-Brazilian food alone is worth the journey. Also, be sure to enjoy their special offer of two-for-one caipirinhas all day and night.
This event begins at 4PM and a suggested donation of R$5 is encouraged.

Hamilton de Holanda @ Sesc (Copacabana) – Today is also the national day of choro – a Brazilian genre of music similar to samba. If you’re looking to hear an example of this musical style, or you’re already a fan, then acclaimed bandolinist Hamilton de Holanda will be paying tribute to legendary choro composer Jacob do Bandolim at Sesc in Copacabana.
To celebrate the hundredth birthday of Jacob do Bandolim, Hamilton de Holanda has released a four-disc compilation album of choro, from which he’ll be playing along with his band in what is sure to be a magical evening of Brazilian music.
Tickets are between R$7.50-R$30 and the evening begins at 8PM.

PARTY:
Festa Erasmus @ Fosfobox (Copacabana) – Caipirinha, samba and lots of dancing are all guaranteed at this special São Jorge edition of Erasmus, the party for exchange students and backpackers in Copacabana.
Have a go at learning how to samba with free classes from Plácido Leite and Ana Calado, or simply show off your moves to the others while DJ Bruno Lima and DJ Letto provide the tunes.
Tickets are between R$10-R$30 with exchange students getting in free before midnight, and the night officially opens at 9PM.

Shake Speakeasy Bar (Centro)
Run by award-winning barman and mixologist Walter Garin, Shake Speakeasy mixes some of the best cocktails in the city in an inspired ‘hidden’ location. Located in a shopping center a few steps away from the equally innovative Curto Café, Shake Speakeasy Bar may be a little hard to find, but its thirties ambience and competitively-priced drinks make it well-worth the trip.
