Thursday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s time for a sunset session of balearic grooves as the Rooftop Hotel of Caesar Park Ipanema hosts Rendez Vous with DJ Tee Cardaci.
The rooftop area of the Caeser Park Hotel features stunning views and during the party, organizers promise tasty beverages and snacks to enjoy by the venue’s pool while DJ Cardaci spins the best of jazz, soul, disco, house and more.
It is suggested that those interested in attending arrive early as the venue is subject to reaching capacity. Also if you get there early enough you’ll get the chance to see an incredible sunset.

Novas Frequências (Various)
The fifth edition of the Novas Frequências festival continues today and tonight at Casa Rio, Laboratório Agnut, Audio Rebel and Oi Futuro Ipanema. The Interspecifics Collective will present Non-Human Rhythms (MX) at Casa Rio from 11AM to 6PM as part of the Hacklab. At Laboratório Agnut, Tunga’s Delivered in Voices installation will welcome N-1 from 3PM to 5PM and Fabio Ghivelder will continue to present the “RECAP” exhibition. Audio Rebel will screen Dan Linn-Pearl, Marianna Roe and Andi Spowart’s “Learning to Listen” beginning at 4PM and beginning at 8:30PM at Oi Futuro Ipanema, the Quiet Ensemble will present “The Enlightenment.”

Tonight Bem Brasil Entretenimento will once again present the Girls Night Out party at the New Mariuzinn Copacabana. Caipirinhas will be free until 12AM and additional promotions will include two-for-one specials on beer, caipirinahs and Cuba Libre all night long. The Veneno party is back at Casa da Matriz tonight. For over ten years the weekly events, filled with good music and beautiful people, have helped start weekends early in Rio. Tonight will be no exception as DJs Tulio Araujo and Beto Artista will spin the best of rock and pop on the first floor. On the second floor tonight, the Meninas Veneno will return to spin the best of unsigned hits.

Tonight the Cabaret Lounge in Botafogo will host the Quinta (Thursday) party. Tonight singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Thiago Genthil will start the night at Rio Scenarium at 7:30PM with the best of samba, groove, and bossa nova. Nando do Cavaco and the group Sambista will follow at 10:30PM wil the best of samba including their reinterpretations of works by Noel, Chico, Alcione, Martinho, and Roberto Ribeiro, among others.

Tempero Carioca and Inácio Rios (Lapa)
It’s all about samba tonight at Lapa’s Carioca da Gema as singer JP Silva gets things started at 8:30 PM and Tempero Carioca follows at 11PM with veterans of the samba genre delivering one of the best rodas de samba in the city tonight.

Salsa and Forró Leviano (Lapa)
The Salsa and Forró party is back at Lapa’s Leviano bar tonight and that means it’s time to dance. The group Mano a Mano will start things off at 8PM with salsa and merengue on the first floor and later singer Marcelo Mimoso will perform the best of Forró on the second floor. Additionally, Lucas de Moraes will perform during happy hour and DJ Angolano will spin salsa and DJ Léo Araripe will spin forró during show intervals.
