O Cluster Returns to Rio this Sunday at Casa França Brasil

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – This Sunday, September 3rd, the O Cluster collective returns to Casa França Brasil (France Brazil house) with diverse free cultural attractions. From 1PM to 9PM, the event’s second edition will bring live music, new fashion brands, culinary stalls and designers.

Created five years ago, the O Cluster is a multicultural collective aimed at promoting the latest and most original expressions in Rio’s artistic scene.

By giving visibility to new artists, DJs, designers and chefs, it intends to fill the gaps when it comes to supporting new cultural initiatives.

Thinking of that, this edition will promote the “Espíritu Libre Novos Sons” Award, sponsored by Sol beer label, which will be given to promising independent musicians  that has not taken off in Rio’s cultural scene yet.

“O Cluster wants to enable creative businesses and approach the producers to the costumers. With that in mind, I realized that Rio’s musical scene was not getting proper acknowledgement. Thus, we thought of a prize that promotes new names from the arts scene and boosts these people’s works”, says Carolina Herszenhut, the project’s curator.

The “Espíritu Libre Novos Sons” Award includes two categories: one focused in artists that have never recorded an album, and other for musicians who already have a released album. The winners will be chosen by the audience on Sunday, September 3rd.

“We want to stimulate the audience and the artists to be active agents in the appreciation of Rio’s extremely rich cultural scene”, comments Bernardo Pauleira, founder of Embolacha, crowdfunding platform that is sponsoring the “Espíritu Libre Novos Sons” Award.

Besides the award, “O Cluster” will bring a rich musical line up. DJ Andrei Yurievitch, who played at the event’s first edition, returns to Casa França Brasil to spin the best of vintage music, like swing, electro blues, retrobeats and new jazz. Leading the dance floor will also be DJs Nado Leal, Ícaro dos Santos and Cau Lopes, who plays at the trendy party SOMM, at Leme beach.

What’s more, O Cluster will gather a variety of fashion and design brands, both for children and adults. Low fashion groups like Arara Garimpo, Narooma, Quaint, Estum, Croma, Saynalô, Holly, among others will be participating in the event. Handicraft artists will also be present on Sunday, September 3rd, including ceramic brands like Magma Lab, Lulu Telles and Caelum Cerâmicas.

At O Cluster, one will also find several food trucks for all tastes. Bolo doamor’s cakes, Veghouse’s vegan dishes, Tutto Nhoque’s Italian food, Sitio Kouit’s organic sweets and Blugerloza’s handmade burgers are some of the options the event will offer.
