Monday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Samba is played best here in Rio, especially on Monday nights with Richas at Carioca da Gema. The party has won the acclaim of the public, with a style of samba that makes Lapa shake, step and boogie.
Depicting the blocos and styles of the classic Rio samba schools, the band has an incredible array of brilliant percussionists. This night is truly the definition of Rio samba, with a four hour jam session that unites the powerful impact of song, rhythmic drumming and harmony.
Hosted at Carioca da Gema, one of Lapa’s finest live music venues and spectacular pizzaria, Richas has earned the praise of the public and makes for a good start of the week.
