Rio’s Lagoa Bier Fest Holds Pre-Carnival Event this Weekend

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Starting from 6PM on Friday, February 17th and continuing from 2PM to 11PM on Saturday and Sunday, Lagoa Bier Fest will take place in Parque dos Patins over the course of the weekend. The free-entry event will offer a selection of craft beer, local cuisine, entertainment and activities for children.

With craft beers from dozens of local Rio brewers among Lagoa Bier Fest’s pre-Carnival offerings, the event will also provide a wide selection of food from gourmet food trucks and bikes, plus cachaça and non-alcoholic beverages.

Rio-based brewers at the event include Noi, Gaspar, Irada!, Kurumã and Lhama Local, in addition to many others such as Brewbus, Mistura Clássica and Monbar. Coming from further away, Minas Gerais small brewery Capa Preta and German-inspired Wieninger are also among the names that will be present.

Visitors will also have numerous cuisines to choose from. Currently confirmed food vendors include local Italian food truck Al Taglio, popular burger maker Hare Burger, Le French Crepes, Argentine-inspired Las Empanadas, along with many more.

Entertainment will accompany food and drink options, with an 8PM performance from Rio rock and blues group Soulshine on Friday. Saturday evening will see Licor do Canavial play their signature blend of rock and pop for visitors at 8:30 PM, while Bloco Escangalha will perform at 7PM on Sunday.

Children’s entertainment will be provided by Atelier das Ideias, with cupcake decorating activities available throughout the weekend.
