In honor of Brazil’s Independence Day, “Casa Brasil” opens in Tel Aviv
From September 4th to 9th, the Israelis will get to know a little more about Brazil. Casa Brasil Israel, an initiative of ApexBrasil, promotes the country’s image abroad to boost exports and attract investments.
In partnership with the Brazilian Embassy in Tel Aviv, they will bring together Brazilian companies that will present high-quality and competitive products for the Israeli market in the sectors of food and beverages, agribusiness, home and construction, technology, electronic games, fashion, and creative economy.
Besides strengthening the country’s image as a tourist, cultural and competitive destination in the global market, Casa Brasil Israel, which will be installed at the Port of Tel Aviv (Hangar 11), will also have in its programming business rounds between Israeli importers and Brazilian exporters.
The Brazilian Furniture Industry Association (Abimovel) plans to showcase 45 pieces of furniture from 21 sectors.
Israeli importers and Brazilian exporters will participate in business rounds where they will have the opportunity to promote trade and partnerships.
Brazilian exports to Israel have grown significantly in recent years, reaching a record US$1.1 billion in the first half of 2022 alone. There are currently around 150 Israeli companies operating in Brazil, mainly in the technology sector.
Casa Brasil will also feature a fashion show, cooking shows featuring Brazilian cuisine, musical performances featuring genres such as Brazilian Jazz, Bossa Nova, and Samba, and a demonstration of the Brazilian art of Capoeira.
On Thursday, September 8, the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert at the Jerusalem Theatre with conductor Ligia Amadio, former principal conductor of the National Symphony Orchestra of Brazil in Rio de Janeiro and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Bogotá in Colombia.
The orchestra will perform pieces by Brazilian composers such as Luis Bonfá, Villa-Lobos, Carlos Gomes, and Antonio Carlos Jobim.
“The Brazilian-Israeli friendship has a long tradition and was strengthened by Brazil’s decisive participation in establishing the State of Israel,” said Brazilian Ambassador to Israel Gerson Menandro.
“Our two peoples have established a close relationship in several areas, including trade, education, politics, culture, defense, agriculture, and innovation. ‘Casa Brasil’ celebrates this partnership on the occasion of Brazil’s 200th anniversary,” he said.
