Honda announces production stoppage in Brazil due to the worsening of the pandemic

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to the company, the temporary halt in operations at the Sumaré and Itirapina units, in the countryside of São Paulo, will take place from March 30 to April 9.

Honda announced this Friday (26) the production stoppage in Brazil due to the worsening of the pandemic. According to the company, the temporary halt in operations at the Sumaré and Itirapina units, in the countryside of São Paulo, will take place from March 30 to April 9. The resumption is scheduled for April 12.

The compensation format for the hours not worked during the period is under negotiation with the union, according to the assembler.

Honda reinforces that the measures adopted aim at preserving people’s health and safety. In addition, the company remains committed to minimizing the impacts of the pandemic on its value chain, as well as the inconveniences to consumers,” informed the automaker.
