A Colombian salsa band and the national orchestra bring their symphonic show to Bogotá and Medellín in April 2027. Tickets are on sale now.

The Grupo Niche Bogotá concert is on Friday, 16 April 2027, at Movistar Arena, starting at 8 p.m. local time. That is 9 p.m. US Eastern, and Tuboleta, the official seller, lists doors at 6 p.m.

Grupo Niche, a Colombian salsa band, performs with the Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, the country’s national orchestra. A second date follows on Saturday, 24 April 2027, at Daviarena in Medellín.

What the Niche Sinfónico Show Is

The show is called Un Universo de Sentimientos, part of a project known as Niche Sinfónico. It pairs the band’s salsa songs with orchestral arrangements, Noticias RCN reported.

The repertoire comes from Jairo Varela, the group’s founder and main composer, according to Publimetro. Infobae reported in 2025 that Varela, who started the group, died in 2012 and that the band kept performing.

Noticias RCN says the project won a Latin Grammy in 2023. Outlets describe the award category differently, so this guide does not name it.

The musical direction is credited to José Aguirre and Juan José Aguirre, Noticias RCN and Publimetro both said. Neither outlet lists the size of the orchestra for the 2027 dates.

Publimetro wrote that Bogotá already hosted this production in August 2026. The April date is therefore a repeat visit to Movistar Arena, not a debut.

Infobae reported in 2025 that the band’s Legacy Tour included a date at Carnegie Hall in New York on 17 April 2025. That shows the group has played for US audiences, though no 2027 US dates were checked for this guide.

Tickets and Prices

Tuboleta, Colombia’s ticketing company, says it is the only authorised seller for the Bogotá show. A presale for customers of the telecom company Movistar ran from Thursday, 15 October, to 9:59 a.m. on Saturday, 17 October.

General sale opens on Saturday, 17 October, at 10 a.m. Bogotá time, which is 11 a.m. US Eastern. Seats are numbered in every section, Tuboleta says.

Prices are in Colombian pesos and include the service fee. This guide uses the open.er-api.com rate of 16 October 2026, about COP 3,183 per US dollar.

The cheapest seats are in the third tier, sections 301 and 319, at COP 143,100 (about US$45) in the first sales stage. The price rises to COP 156,300 (about US$49) once that allocation sells out.

Mid-range seats in the second tier cost COP 276,600 to COP 372,800 (about US$87 to US$117) in the first stage. Prices vary by section within the tier.

Platea seats run from COP 420,900 (about US$132) to COP 541,100 (about US$170) in the first stage. The Tribuna Fan Sur section is the dearest, at COP 649,300 (about US$204), rising to COP 673,300 (about US$212).

Each section starts at a first-stage price and moves to full price when its first allocation sells out. Tuboleta adds that prices may change at any time with supply and demand.

A buyer can purchase at most six tickets per transaction. Web, call-centre and point-of-sale purchases carry an extra delivery fee, shown before payment.

Tickets are delivered to the Tuboleta Pass app, which buyers should download before the event. Tuboleta says accessible areas exist, and buyers with reduced mobility should tell its customer service when buying.

Sections 201, 219, 301 and 319 may have restricted views, depending on the stage setup. Tuboleta says it will not accept complaints about visibility in those four sections.

The Venue and How to Get There

Movistar Arena stands at Diagonal 61C No. 26-36 in Bogotá’s Teusaquillo district, according to the city tourism site Visit Bogotá. It holds up to 14,000 spectators.

Visit Bogotá says to ride TransMilenio, the bus rapid transit system, along Avenida NQS to the Movistar Arena station. The same page lists the Virgilio Barco Library among nearby sights.

The venue’s own directions page could not be opened for this guide. Check movistararena.co for parking and access advice before the show.

Plan the trip home before the encore, because a full arena empties onto the same avenue at once. Arranging a ride in advance is simpler than hailing one in the crowd.

Tuboleta sets a minimum age of 12, and children may sit only in sections 206, 214, 306 and 314. Those sections are alcohol-free, and a responsible adult must accompany each child.

The Medellín Date

The Medellín show is on Saturday, 24 April 2027, at Daviarena, Noticias RCN and Publimetro reported. Publimetro calls it the show’s first time in Medellín.

Tickets for Medellín go on sale from Thursday, 22 October 2026, through Tuboleta, both outlets said. No showtime or prices have been published, and the Tuboleta page for Medellín could not be opened for this guide.

Publimetro tells Medellín buyers to check the venue’s own entry conditions for minors. The Bogotá age rules above should not be assumed to apply there.

Tips for US and Foreign Visitors

US citizens need a valid passport to enter and leave Colombia, according to the State Department. It recommends six months of validity and at least one blank page.

No visa is needed for tourism or business stays of 90 days or less, the department says. Stays can total 180 days per calendar year, and Migración Colombia, the immigration agency, can extend a stay by 90 days.

Travellers must complete Colombia’s free Online Check-Mig form before the flight, the department says. Colombia may also deny entry to travellers without a return ticket.

Entry and exit are each limited to US$10,000 in cash without a declaration, the State Department says. Larger amounts must be declared, with proof of where the money came from.

The State Department rates Colombia Level 3, Reconsider Travel, in an advisory dated 31 March 2026 on its site. It lists Level 4, Do Not Travel, areas including Arauca, Norte de Santander and most of Cauca and Valle del Cauca.

For Bogotá, the advisory says demonstrations are frequent and can turn violent, and crimes against tourists are common. It adds that street crime occurs throughout Colombia and can quickly become violent.

The advisory also warns of terrorist violence with little or no warning, naming tourist areas and transport hubs among the targets. Read the full text and enrol in the department’s traveller alert programme before booking.

In June 2026, President Gustavo Petro asked the Foreign Ministry to review entry conditions for US citizens, El Cronista reported. The paper said no official measure had changed the rules, so recheck the rules before you fly.

What It Means for You

For a US fan, the April date offers an orchestral salsa show in a major arena, with seats from about US$45. The Friday night start suits a long weekend in Bogotá, and the Medellín show a week later allows a two-city trip.

Buyers should move early on the sections they want, because prices step up once each first allocation sells out. Book flights and hotels only after tickets are secured, and keep the Tuboleta Pass app on your phone.

Residents and expats in Bogotá can use the TransMilenio stop at the door, but should plan the ride home. The four alcohol-free sections suit families bringing teenagers aged 12 and over.

What Is Not Known

Tuboleta has not published a doors time or showtime for Medellín, and no prices for that date have been confirmed. The size of the orchestra and any guest artists for either date are also not announced.

It is not confirmed how many tickets remain in each section after the presale. The Latin Grammy category the project won is described differently by different outlets, so it is left unstated here.

The Movistar Arena and Tuboleta Medellín pages could not be opened in full, so access details rely on Visit Bogotá. No 2027 US dates for the band were checked.

What Comes Next

Bogotá general sale opens on Saturday, 17 October, and Medellín sales begin on Thursday, 22 October. Any change of time or venue would be posted by Tuboleta, the official seller.

Tuboleta lists doors for the Bogotá show at six in the evening and the concert at eight. A sold-out Bogotá date could prompt a second show, but none has been announced.
