Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – Mau returns to Fosfobox, Rio’s premier underground venue to bring you yet another edition of house and techno fused funk. Longtime DJ and pioneer of the Rio electronic music scene, Mauricio Lopes takes the stage yet again alongside a few of his fellow DJs and cohorts. Joining the legend tonight will be DJ Ezy from the Netherlands, a long time record collector and music fanatic and DJ Andre Britto, who holds down his monthly Ritual parties here in Rio. Upstairs will be guided by DJ David Tabalipa and Machintal, two DJs with an assortment of funk, soul breaks and all things musically good. The Mau parties have proven much success as the popularity of Mauricio Lopes follows loyally, always packing the house and serving up quality music.

Groundnation- Tribo de Marley (Lapa)
California based band Groundnation arrives at Fundição Progresso for a Tribute to Bob Marley. Groundnation brings to the stage their unique blend of reggae and dub, mixed up with jazz and blues. With such a diverse group of musically trained artists, the nine-piece band creates an altogether new reggae sound, featuring swirling, jazz/funk inspired horns, stout Latin and African based poly-rhythmics, and soulful harmony vocals.
