Friday’s Rio Nightlife Pick – It’s birthday time at Fosfobox, the leading underground club in Rio. Known for its classic and always packed parties ranging from Electronic to Rock and Mashup nights, the club will celebrate its 8-year anniversary in style. Fosfobox will host a three-night-weekend bash featuring all the residents and guests from each specific genre. Tonight will feature electronic DJ’s from the parties Brazilian Wax, Bootleg, Black Sheep, Brotherhood and Fosfobase.

Zeca Baleiro (Lapa)
Hailing from the state of Maranhão, Zeca Baleiro is a Brazilian MPB artist. One of his most famous songs “Salão de Beleza”, was featured on Putumayo World Music’s Reggae Around the World compilation. Aside from being a solo artist, he has also worked with guitarist Pedro Joia.

Scott Feiner and Pandeiro Jazz (Leblon)
New Yorker Scott Feiner has been in Rio since 2001 and his innovative mixture of the Brazilian pandeiro with jazz has received international acclaim.
